Dime Foundation focuses on developing countries where the poorest people have very few opportunities to lift themselves
out of poverty. Within those countries Dime Foundation is identifying those in poverty that do not have the opportunity
for business ownership or meaningful work. With a balance between both the rural and urban poor, Dime Foundation will
identify those that are most marginalized such as widows, child headed households, women, minorities and other
disadvantaged persons. Beneficiaries will be chosen without regard to race, creed, religion, disability or age.
By providing loans, business training and ethics education to the underprivileged they are equipped to lift themselves
out of poverty. Some of the main activities DIME focuses on include:
Establishing accounting and loan portfolio management systems
|
Training of trainers for program development
Selection of local groups as loan recipients
Training and development of local groups in leadership, management, accounting, monitoring and reporting
Repayment of member loans to the group
Repayment of the group loan to the implementing agency
Outcome and impact evaluation and report
In each country the provision of loans, business training and education will allow impoverished persons to lift themselves and their families from poverty.
